Google Business Profile Suspended? How to Fix It and Appeal
Short answer
A suspended profile is hidden from Maps and Search until the problem is fixed. Fix the guideline breach first, then appeal once through Google’s appeals tool with a document whose business name and address match the profile: a business registration, licence, tax certificate or utility bill. Do not create a new profile while the appeal is open.

The breaches that usually cause it
Google suspends profiles that break its guidelines for representing a business. These are the rules most often broken. Check your profile against each one before you appeal; an appeal for a profile that still breaks a rule has nothing to stand on.

How to appeal
- Read the notice. Open your Business Profile and note whether the profile is suspended, disabled, or your account is restricted.
- Fix the profile first. Correct whatever breaks the guidelines: the name, the address setting, duplicate profiles or categories.
- Gather your documents. A registration, licence, tax certificate or utility bill whose business name and address match the profile.
- Appeal through Google’s appeals tool. Confirm your account, select the profile, and submit the appeal with your documents.
- Wait without creating a new profile. Google asks you not to create a new profile for the same business while the appeal is under review.

Whatever you send, the business name and address must match the profile. Google calls this out on its appeal page. A bill in a personal name, or at another address, will not help.

Does a suspended profile still show on Google Maps?
No. Google says the public cannot go to a suspended or disabled profile, and the owner and managers cannot act on it, until the issue is resolved.
What documents does Google accept for a Business Profile appeal?
Google lists official business registration, a business licence, tax certificates and utility bills such as electricity, phone, water or internet. The business name and address on them must match the profile you are appealing for.
Can I just create a new Business Profile instead?
No. Google asks you not to create a new profile for the same business while your appeal is under review, and its guidelines allow one profile per business. A restricted account also cannot create or claim additional profiles.
How long does a Google Business Profile appeal take?
Google does not publish a turnaround time for appeals. Submit once, with complete documents, and watch the email address on the account for the decision.
What is the difference between a suspended profile and a restricted account?
A suspended or disabled profile cannot be viewed by the public, and its owners and managers cannot act on it. A restricted account is wider: Google says the profiles you manage are suspended and you cannot create or claim other profiles.
What happens to my reviews while the profile is suspended?
They are not shown while the profile is hidden. If the appeal succeeds and the profile is reinstated, keep asking every customer for a review in the normal way, without incentives.
